Cost Effective Cooking: Food Doesn't Have To Be Expensive To Be Good

I used to pride my self on my lasagna recipe-it literally took all day to make a pan and easily cost over $50.00 to make. As I have gotten older and wiser, I learned that more expensive and time consuming doesn't necessarily make something better. This streamlined version is actually better tasting than my original recipe and I canspend time crock pot saute slow cooker with my kids while it is cooking!

My twin grandchildren live with us and I thought about fixing a bacon quiche. But quiche didn't sound very fancy and my mind wandered to other possibilities. Though my granddaughter says she hates fish, she does eat crab and shrimp, and that turned out to be my solution. easy crock pot lasagna was something I would prepare ahead.

My husband had been a great leftover eater. He was self-employed with a used car lot and auto mechanic shop less than one mile from our home. He worked a variety of hours. He would go to work early in the morning to open the shop, or late at night to complete a car sale or work on a car. Hurley, my husband, would pop home in the afternoon for a bite to eat, standing in front of the refrigerator looking for the oldest leftovers. I would guide him to the plastic containers of different shapes and sizes. He would grab a fork from the drawer to mix casseroles and side dishes and stand there eating the food cold. Standing in the kitchen, he would tell me the latest stories from work, laughing between forkfuls of food.

Each of those coastal areas has used their own techniques for preparing the food as well a herbs to flavor it. The combination of these aspects is what gives you gourmet italian cooking because of how specialized the food can be.

I don't know if it's the writing or the acting lasagna cottage cheese what, but I just wasn't buying the central relationship between the Ben Affleck character and the lesbian (Joey Lauren Adams) who is converting to be with him. Maybe I just don't get Ben Affleck, because for me he was a dud in Jersey Girl too.
